Join us in finding new perspectives to Sivistys – The online brainstorming session now open!

The Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture has declared the year 2024 as the Year of Sivistys. The year celebrates and promotes Sivistys, a Finnish concept denoting knowledge, bildung, education, and culture. The aim is to update the concept of Sivistys to fit the requirements of modern-day society and make it a natural part of the everyday life of everyone in Finland. We warmly welcome you to find new perspectives to Sivistys!

We invite everyone to join an open public discussion! The online brainstorming session is open until Sunday, October 13th, 2024.

In everyday life, Sivistys can be seen in our efforts to educate ourselves together so that we may better care for our environment and each other. We invite everyone to think about what Sivistys is, what it could mean in the future, and what we should do to promote Sivistys in Finland.

In the brainstorming session, express your point of view in your own words, evaluate the importance of other suggestions and the best ideas for the follow-up. Participation is anonymous. All answers are treated confidentially so that it is not possible to identify the respondents, and the answers cannot be linked to individual persons. The results are used for educational work, e.g. for communication and research purposes.
